It is

HOT! I guess everyone knows that it's hot out there. So long as we can get the water to them, this weather makes those plants grow grow grow. We spent the weekend setting up and running irrigation all over the farm. It was fun. What a great feeling it is to put together an irrigation set and them turn on the pump and watch all of the drip tape lines fill with water and start to drip. From the certain low angle, right as the sun is setting, you can see thousands of drops of water hanging on the black drip tape, sparkling and growing before they fall off into the soil. It is lovely. The crops are lookin' good. We have had about a week of dinners, breakfasts and lunches absolutely brimming with fresh greens - one of those farmer perks. We can't wait to share it all with you. I'll send out an email early next week letting you know what will be in the first share. Here is a salad cook book that I have recently been very enamored of: http://www.amazon.com/Salads-Beyond-Extraordinary-Recipes-Everyday/dp/1906868670. I drool when I read it. Remember: We will be hosting a CSA orientation this Thursday from 5-7pm. You can come for any and all of it. If you do not come, don't worry, we will orient you on your first pick-up day. If you have not already done so, please send me an email letting me know that you know that the CSA is starting June 5th or June 8th. Okay! See you soon!
