Last winter CSA distribution

Flowering Blackberries. Remember Summer?

Hi all,
I hope this finds everyone well and enjoying the nice cold weather. We are. When it gets warm our bodies start taking control of our brains and we find ourselves outside madly working instead of inside thinking and planning. These past few days we've been doing the seed and plant order. Of course before you order seeds and plants you have to plan out the ENTIRE growing season - which also involves assessing the ENTIRE past season. This represents much brain work. Much brain work that you do with your husband. We do pretty well at it now. The first time we tried to do this together we had just met and the process nearly ended our newly budding relationship. The season planning is now finished and we are putting in the seed order today. Yippee!! Our relationship remains fine to boot. One new and exciting development is summer bearing raspberries. We'll be planting a big patch of those this April, and they will start bearing in the early summer of 2011. Good things come to those who wait. As a whole we've found that the membership likes juicy, red, shiny things to eat. Throw sweet in there and it's all over.

Important Items of Business:

1. This Wednesday the 12th is the last REGULAR winter CSA distribution. However

WE WILL DO AN EXTRA WINTER CSA DISTRIBUTION ON THE 28TH OF FEBRUARY IF ENOUGH OF YOU SIGN UP.
The cost for the extra distribution on the 28th is $32. It is likely that the produce at that distribution will be pretty much the same as the produce at this Wednesday's distribution. The sooner we know how many of you want to tack on the extra week, the better. We will cancel it if there is not enough interest. Just send me an email or let us know at this week's distribution. Thanks!
We still have plenty of food.

2. If you have missed any of the winter CSA distributions you may get a double share this Wednesday or you may sign up for the extra week at no extra cost (however, if we cancel the extra week you will miss out).

3. I f you have not done so already, you should be paid up for the Winter CSA by this Wednesday.

3. Sign up for the 2010 Summer CSA Today!! Help us pay for those seeds.

Here's the line up:

mix and match up to 14 pounds: (please remember - if this is too much, don't take it!)
potatoes, carrots, beets, rutabagas, parsnips, gold ball turnips, purple top turnips, celeriac, winter radishes, cabbage,

onions
garlic
kale

Ok, see you soon,
Evangeline
