Seeds Are in the Ground

Last Tuesday Paul and I worked hard to get about 80 beds ready for planting. We planted several of them to peas, spinach, salad mix, beets, radishes, and arugula. It felt great to get the first seeds of the new farm in the ground. We also planted some flowers - bachelors button and sweet peas. Everything is now getting well watered in with this snow.
We have been making raised beds in the passive solar tunnel. It was wonderful to work in there today, cold and snowy outside and warm(ish) and still inside. Every forkful of soil brought up incredible numbers or earthworms. We love seeing them! The tomatoes destined for the tunnel are getting bushy and big in the heated greenhouse.
