Potatoes and Cover Crops

Greetings from a almost fully cover cropped farm! Paul turned on them tractor lights last night and got 'er done. (So sorry for the digression). We busted out the potatoes from 8-noon with the crew, and then I stayed on with the crew after lunch digging potatoes while Paul hopped on the tractor and disced, seeded, re-disced, and then cultipacked about 1/2 of the farm. Yahoo! It is such a load off of our minds to know that those fall cover crops (aka green manures) are in the ground and poised to take off. Put to bed. Jobs done, kind of the feeling you have once the kids are in bed, they had a good meal, and the dishes are washed. And half of the potatoes are now out of the ground. Go crew!

This week our very own Anna Root put together another week of recipes on....
