July 11th

Heeelllllooooo Farmivores,

Dry! Dry! Remember all of those emails about it being wet? Now we're dry. It is a bit silly, I know. We've been irrigating like mad and our pond is about 5 feet lower than it was last week this time. Bye Bye water. Luckily our soils have a great water holding capacity, so once we irrigate a field it stays nice and wet for awhile. The surface looks dry, but dig down a ways and there is moisture. And, give the plants alittle water in this kind of heat, and they grow super quick.

The Ithaca Crop Mob (http://www.facebook.com/ithacacropmob) will be here at the farm next Saturday. Check out the link and come on out if you want. We're buying pizza for everyone for lunch. The official message about the Mob is at the bottom of this email. The Mob is fun because with so many people working, we get at ton done in a short amount of time. Lots of visual satisfaction.

Veggie Forecast:
Green onions, scapes, head lettuce, European Cucumbers (long, seedless, and thin skinned - store in plastic), summer squash, parsnips, celeriac, beet greens, daikon, hakurei turnips, kale, chard, escarole, endive. The komatsuna, arugula, pac choi, and mustard are done until the fall.

U-pick - unlimited:
