Harvest Dinners Announced

Hello Farm Food Eaters!

Announcing this year's round of Harvest Dinners! Don't miss out on some of the most elegant and fun dining of the season. Join one or all of the farms listed below for a lovely field dining experience. All of the proceeds from the dinners go toward the Healthy Food for All program. Last year the dinners were a great success. We had a lot of fun hosting the Hazelnut Kitchen and Atwater Estate Vineyards here at Sweet Land, and will do so again with the exciting addition of Bilsboro Winery from Geneva. (2 wineries!). Less than 3 weeks away will be the first dinner (August 23) at Remembrance Farm with Chef Samantha Izzo and Lamoreaux Landing Winery.

For those of you who haven't heard of the Harvest Dinners here's a brief description. Each of the CSA farms that offer subsidized shares through the Healthy Food for All program host a fund-raising dinner in collaboration with a local chef(s) and winery. The dinners are at each of the farm, and depending on the time of year, are inside a farm building or out in the field under a big tent. Last year here at the farm we had lovely weather and DELICIOUS food and wine that melted away into a beautiful summer evening. Coming to a dinner (or all of them!) is a wonderful way to support local subsidised CSA shares while having a great time.

This year through the combined efforts of the farms, co-operative extension, chefs, wineries, and volunteers we were able to provide about 110 subsidized share to local families. Not bad!

Here is some more information and the way to buy tickets.
