Winter CSA Kick-Off

Here we go! We've been super busy here at the farm these past couple weeks. Harvest! Paul built an insulated root cellar and since then we've been stowing bag upon bag of roots into its earthy depths. Its pretty well stuffed full now, poised to slowly trickle out its bounty as the winter progresses. Carrots, red and gold beets, parsnips, leeks, white and red top turnips, rutabagas, black Spanish and watermelon radishes, diakon, and celeriac. An in a separate cooler, lots of cabbage - red, green and napa. And in another part of the cellar - potatoes, fingerling and carola. And in an insulated room upstairs - winter squash. And, hanging in a hallway upstairs - bags and bags of onions. (also, about 2000 pounds of dry beans in the intern kitchen!). I almost forgot, in the field - kale, spinach, and a greenhouse full of salad greens. I hope that you're hungry.
